Prayer for Healing

Lord God, Great Physician, Healer of all things broken — I come to You with a body that is hurting and a heart that is weary from the fight. You know every cell, every nerve, every part of me that isn’t working the way You designed it to. Before the doctors gave it a name, You already knew. Before the test results came back, You had already counted every hair on my head and every day ordained for me.

I ask You to heal me, Lord. Not because I have earned it, not because my faith is perfect, but because You are compassionate and Your love for me does not depend on how well I perform. I come to You the way the sick came to Jesus — desperate, humbled, with nowhere else to turn. And just as He never turned them away, I trust that You will not turn me away now.

Touch my body, Father. Where there is disease, bring restoration. Where there is pain, bring relief. Where there is inflammation, bring calm. Where cells have gone wrong, correct them by the power that spoke the universe into existence. You formed me in my mother’s womb. You know every system, every process, every mechanism. Nothing about my body is a mystery to You.

But Lord, I ask for more than physical healing. Heal my emotions too. Heal the fear that comes with every new symptom, every waiting room, every phone call from the doctor’s office. Heal the grief of watching my body fail me. Heal the isolation of suffering that nobody else can fully see or understand.

Heal my faith where doubt has crept in. I confess there are moments when I wonder if You’re listening, moments when the pain makes it hard to believe that You are good. Meet me in those moments, Father. I don’t need a lecture — I need Your presence. I need to feel Your hand on my life, steady and sure, reminding me that even in the valley of the shadow of death, You are with me.

Give wisdom to the doctors and nurses who care for me. Guide their hands, sharpen their minds, and let them be instruments of Your healing. And if healing comes slowly, give me the patience and courage to endure. Help me to trust Your timeline, even when it doesn’t match mine.

I place my body, my health, my future, and my life in Your hands — the safest hands in the universe.
